AST 1 · 2 days

The entry-level course every mountain rider should have: one part classroom, one part field day. Split it up — classroom in the fall (AB/SK sessions), field day in winter.

AST 2 · 4 days

The next step: route planning, hazard assessment, travel in varied terrain, snowpack tests and companion-rescue practice for riders who spend serious time out there.
